Hotel Porto Jofre




The
Hotel Porto Jofre is located in one of the most fascinating regions of the Pantanal at 245km from Cuiabá, the capital of Mato Grosso, and at 145km from the town of Poconé.
They welcome guests looking for both sport fishing and ecological tourism and offer:

Barco Hotel

The
Barco Hotel, a floating boat hotel, contains four decks. On the bottom deck (deck 1) there are eight double cabins (each with two single beds) with individualized air conditioning, private bathroom and private safe. There are also outside showers, an ice maker, a fridge, BBQ and fish platform, embarkation/disembarkation platforms, electric generators, and the crew mess and dormitory.
Deck 2 contains a restaurant, kitchen, bar, games, TV, video and audio room, two public bathrooms, decks fore and aft, and a swimming pool.
Deck 3 is comprised of the bridge, cellular telephone and optional satellite phone (Globalstar), ample panoramic views, and four double rooms (each with single beds) the same size as those on Deck 1.
Deck 4, at nine metres above the river, has a solarium with tables and chairs, 180-degree panoramic views and a satellite dish for TV and cellular phone use.
Pousada Piquiri

Pousada Piquiri, located about 275 kilometres from Cuiabá, is a fishing lodge on the banks of the Piquiri River in the heart of Mato Grosso's Pantanal. It has four rooms, each with air conditioning and a private bathroom. Each room can accommodate up to five guests. It is a 110-kilometre drive on asphalted road from Cuiabá to Poconé and then 150 further kilometres on the Transpantaneira earth road to Porto Jofre. From there we take you 30 kilometres (about a 45-minute boat ride) along the Cuiabá and Piquiri rivers to the Pousada. The package includes three meals a day at our restaurant.

Pousada Piuval





Pousada Piuval is located 110 km from Cuiabá and 10 km from Poconé in the state of Mato Grosso. It is the first lodge along the Transpantaneira Highway, which begins in Poconé. The lodge is situated on a 7000-hectare cattle ranch and has one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Pantanal. Here tourists can observe an abundance and diversity of Pantanal flora and fauna.
Installations: 20 guest rooms with air-conditioning, television, mini-bar, ceiling fans, private bathrooms, and screened-in windows providing fresh air.

Scenery: The landscape around Piuval Lodge is full of natural beauty. There are large open fields mixed with islands of forest; a fantastic combination for observing wildlife and magnificent sunsets. Visitors will appreciate the scenery in either the flooded season (December to April) or the dry season (July to December), when wading birds reproduce and gather together in colonies.
Photographic Safari: Hiking trail for observing monkeys, caimans, macaws, jabiru storks, toucans, herons and egrets, spoonbills, cormorants, agoutis, ibis, coatis, rheas, anteaters, and many other species, along with diverse Pantanal vegetation.
Swimming in the river, boat and canoe trips during the flooded season (December to April).
Piuval Lodge has developed ecological tourism and scientific research.

Pousada Curicaca
Pousada Curicaca is located 25 kilometres from Poconé and is only three kilometres from the gate of entry into the Pantanal Park; it is a further 100 kilometres from Cuiabá, the capital city of Mato Grosso state, to Poconé. It takes about two and a half hours to reach Cuiabá airport from the pousada as long as there are no additional stops.
On a reserve of 252 hectares, with the Novo River as one of its borders, the lodge has a restaurant and food store, a laundry, an interpretative centre and six accommodation buildings each containing four suites and surrounded by a 200m2 veranda with chairs and hammocks. Each suite contains a private bathroom with hot water, an electric fan, and large windows with mosquito netting. From the restaurant you can watch wildlife during your meals and take photos through the observation window. With access to our computer room or wifi internet system, guests are also free to wander our large gardens and swim in our pool. 150 species of birds have been observed on our reserve, which offers both flooded areas and dense forest, as well as an observation platform for spectacular sunsets.

Pousada Rio Claro




The
Pousada Rio Claro is located in the municipality of Poconé, 142Km from Cuiabá, the capital of Mato Grosso, and at Km 42 from the Transpantaneira, and is strategically one of the most privileged areas of natural beauty in the Pantanal. It will provide you and your family with an unforgettable holiday in harmony with nature.
You will find a variety of Pantanal flora and fauna wherein you can observe the biodiversity of environmental preservation and ecology, including 640 species of birds, 75 mammals, 40 reptiles and 250 types of fish which use this ecological sanctuary for their reproduction and life cycles. The current landscapes from the Pousada Rio Claro are marvellous and indescribably beautiful since they are composed of wide fields, flowers, trails and the marvellous river from which the Pousada takes its name, the Rio Claro. From the river one can observe the sunrise together with the dawn arrival of birds as well as exquisite sunsets.
Daily rates include full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The following excursions are also possible at this lodge: motor boat rides, horse riding, fishing, dawn boat safaris, trail walks, bicycling, night safaris and photographic safaris.
Pouso Alegre

Pouso Alegre is a countryside lodge located in Poconé, the Pantanal, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
Located in a traditional 11,000-hectare Pantanal cattle farm, it offers a great diversity of preserved Pantanal landscapes with characteristic flora and fauna, large floodable fields of native grasses, several kinds of forests and permanent and temporary water bodies.
From Cuiabá, Mato Grosso's state capital, there are 100km of paved road to Poconé and another 33km of Transpantaneira Road (unpaved), to reach the entrance. This will take approximately 3 hours including several stops along the way to observe local attractions.
During both drought and flood, many attractions of the Pantanal may be observed by walking, horseback riding or canoeing to rarely frequented areas.
The lodge is linked to the Transpantaneira by a private, slightly elevated, 6km service road with access year-round, providing excellent conditions for observing the flora and fauna of our region.
Animals such as caimans, capybaras, monkeys, anacondas, deer and a variety of bird species, such as hyacinth macaws, toucans, cardinals and the bird symbol of Pantanal, the jabiru stork, can be found in their natural habitats.
The simple but comfortable accommodations are in harmony with the landscape and a farming lifestyle.
The lodge offers 13 brick bedrooms, equipped with mosquito nets, window screens, a fan and a bathroom. Five bedrooms have air-conditioning.

Pousada Canto do Arancuã

Located at kilometre 38 from Poconé and 138 kilometres from Cuiabá along the Transpantaneira, Pousada Canto do Arancuã has 22 rooms with air-conditioning, a restaurant and a swimming pool. Horse-riding, boat safaris on the Rio Claro, paths to explore and piranha fishing are some of the activites possible on its 5000-hectare property.

Pousada Rio Clarinho

Pousada Rio Clarinho, which is located 145 kilometres from Cuiabá and 45 kilometres from Poconé, has 9 bedrooms, each with private bathroom and ceiling fan. It is a bit more rustic than the other pousadas we work with above, but this way you can experience what day-to-day life and cuisine is like at a typical Pantanal farm. The pousada serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offers horse riding, boat rides, piranha fishing in the river, walks in the forest, night safaris and a tower with a panoramic view, from which you can also watch the sunset. Its environs also contain a plethora of animals and birds to observe and photograph.
