Lodgings in the Pantanal have screened windows, doors and verandas. Use strong insect repellent. There have been some cases of cholera in the Northeast and Yellow Fever occurs in areas of the North and West of Brazil. It is advisable to consult your doctor at least two months before departure to verify all vaccination requirements. Tap water in Brazil is heavily treated and you are advised to stick to bottled mineral water.
